Fire Alarm System Inspection & Testing
Annual inspection and test of addressable and conventional fire alarm systems to BS 5839-1.
Fire alarm systems must be inspected and tested at least annually by a competent engineer (BS 5839-1:2017). Our inspection covers:
- Full walk-test of all detectors (smoke and heat)
- Manual call point test at each break glass
- Alarm sounder and strobe test
- Battery backup capacity check
- Control panel fault review and event log download
- Zone mapping verification against as-built drawing
- Remote monitoring signalling test (where fitted)
- Cause and effect matrix verification
A detailed inspection certificate is issued on completion. Defects are categorised by urgency (immediate action / within 1 month / advisory). We cover Hochiki, Notifier, C-TEC, Fike and Kentec panels.
